Tour description

Departure from Novi Sad at 09:00 AM in front of your hotel or at an agreed-upon location. The walking tour starts in front of the cathedral at Sloboda Square. From there, we head to the nearby Zmaj Jovina Street and enter the main pedestrian zone. This leads to the city's oldest street – Dunavska. Its present appearance is the result of reconstruction after the great destruction in 1849. At the beginning of the street, you'll find the City Library, the legacy of Anka and Arsa Pajevic, and opposite it, the oldest house in Novi Sad, "Kod belog lava," built in the early 18th century. After visiting the famous houses in Dunavska Street, we enter Dunavski Park, the oldest and most beautiful city park, representing a true oasis of peace in the heart of Novi Sad. Along the way, you will hear all the interesting facts about this beautiful charming town.

After a short drive, we arrive at Krušedol Monastery, situated on the southeastern slopes of Fruška Gora. The monastery is a legacy of the Branković family, the last Serbian despots in Srem. It was built in the Baroque style, richly adorned with frescoes dating back to the 15th century, and represents the finest example of Baroque painting in Serbia. This is one of the most important monasteries in Serbia. After the visit, there's a short break for refreshments at Krušedolka restaurant with a fantastic view of the monastery.

Once again, a short drive brings us to Sremski Karlovci, located on the right bank of the Danube River, a place that has marked the cultural, spiritual, and political history of the Serbs. We explore the town center and its major landmarks (Fountain of the Four Lions, Gymnasium, Patriarch's Palace, Seminary). After touring the town, we visit Kiš Winery for wine tasting. The winery is known for numerous awards from international wine competitions. They focus on producing premium, unique wines in limited series, and the pleasant ambiance and hospitable hosts will only enhance your experience.

After the winery, we can leisurely head towards the center of Sremski Karlovci to spend the remaining time in individual activities. Additionally, we can optionally organize a catamaran ride for a minimum of 6 people lasting 1 hour, allowing you to enjoy the water and the shoreline, offering another beautiful experience.
Return to the hotel in the evening hours (app 6pm).

End of the tour.

The minimum number of passengers required for the tour is 6 people*

This review is from a very satisfied Australian/Serbian family from Sydney, Australia. We were hosted by Serbian Adventures for a day trip from Belgrade to Novi Sad in early July 2018. We were taken through the beautiful agricultural areas, towns and villages of Srem, the churches and monasteries of Fruska Gora, the local vineyards, and had a great degustation with local wine growers (Kosovic winery - great food, wine, and company). Our guide Dejan was excellent. Not only did he know all about the local culture, geography and infrastructure but he had an encyclopedic knowledge of history that made the trip a delight. His explanations of church history and architecture were enthusiastic, enlightening and brilliant. In addition, his spoken English was superb, which made every morsel of information alive with meaning. We recommend Dejan Šišić personally for a private tour and also the Serbian Adventures team wholeheartedly and plan to see them again very soon. All the best, Ilija, Aleksandar, Daniel & Damien Vickovich.
